Through the partnership, FIU will gain access to the leading brand protection, brand management, and brand development services that CLC currently provides to its nearly 200 collegiate partners in the $4.6 billion collegiate licensed segment of the retail market. The university’s partnership with CLC will also allow FIU to develop merchandise programs with best-in-class licensees, access CLC’s exclusive retail intelligence data to grow its retail footprint, and participate in a range of customized retail marketing programs.
“We are proud that the University saw value in CLC’s proven track record of guiding leading collegiate brands to greater retail and sales growth through our brand management and marketing programs,” said Brian White, VP of Business Development at CLC. "FIU is one of the largest and most diverse universities in the country, and we are honored to have been selected to guide its licensing program.”
FIU joins eight of its Conference USA peers and the conference itself as a CLC represented institution.
"We are proud of the FIU brand and believe CLC is best positioned to take our merchandising and branding efforts to new levels,” said Eduardo Merille, FIU’s Director of Marketing and New Media. “CLC’s service offering is deeper and more advanced than any other option, and we look forward to leveraging their resources to support the University.”
The school’s new partnership with CLC is effective Oct. 1, 2016.
CLC, the leading collegiate licensing agency in the U.S., currently represents nearly 200 collegiate institutions, including top athletic conferences, 30 bowl games, the NCAA, and the College Football Playoff.
