IMG COLLEGE LICENSING AND FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY EXTEND PARTNERSHIP
ATLANTA, GA (July 10, 2017) – IMG College Licensing today announced a five-year extension of its partnership agreement with Florida State University (FSU) to continue managing the school’s successful trademark licensing program. IMG College Licensing, formerly known as Collegiate Licensing Company, began its partnership with FSU in 1982.
“The IMG College Licensing team understands the unique needs and goals we have for growing the Florida State brand, and we trust their team of experts to guide our licensing program to new heights,” said Andy Miller, President of Seminole Boosters, which oversees the University’s licensing program. “We look forward to continuing to leverage IMG College Licensing’s resources, tools, and staff to provide high-quality merchandise and brand opportunities for our FSU fans.”
IMG College Licensing’s representation of the FSU trademark licensing program will continue to focus on the selection and management of best-in-class licensees to build the University’s brand while increasing sales of officially licensed products. Through its relationship with IMG College Licensing, the University has developed a portfolio of national licensing and co-branded partnerships that include Victoria’s Secret PINK, Dooney & Bourke, Yeti, Star Wars, and others. IMG College Licensing also assisted FSU with its 2014 brand update in conjunction with its sideline partner, Nike, and helped the University create the limited-edition “Bobby Bowden Collection,” honoring its legendary coach.
Florida State is also utilizing IMG College Licensing’s proprietary reporting systems and global consumer insights to develop marketing and licensing strategies to reach consumers across the country through a variety of retail channels and stores. Officially-licensed product for FSU is now sold by more than 4,800 unique retail accounts across the country.
“We are excited that FSU has chosen to extend our long-time partnership and appreciate the confidence they have in IMG College Licensing to develop customized licensing and marketing programs needed to elevate the FSU licensing program,” said Cory Moss, IMG College Licensing’s Senior Vice President and Managing Director. “Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and services to help the University connect its fans with the FSU brand.”
IMG College Licensing, the leading collegiate licensing agency in the U.S., currently represents nearly 200 collegiate institutions, including top athletic conferences, 30 bowl games, the NCAA, and the College Football Playoff in the $4.6 billion retail market for collegiate products.
