University of South Carolina Extends Licensing
Partnership with the Collegiate Licensing Company

ATLANTA, GA (March 10, 2016) – The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the licensing affiliate of IMG College, today announced a five-year extension of its global partnership with the University of South Carolina to continue managing the school’s successful trademark licensing program. CLC began partnering with South Carolina in 1983.
“We have been very pleased with the growth and expansion of our licensing program throughout our 33-year partnership with CLC,” said Ken Corbett, Director of Trademark Licensing for the University of South Carolina. “We value CLC’s knowledge, resources and relationships in the collegiate licensing industry, and we look forward to continuing to capitalize on their extensive brand management and marketing services as we further grow the South Carolina brand.”
Officially-licensed product for South Carolina is now sold at more than 4,300 retail locations across the country. Royalties for the University have increased 107% since FY 2009-10. South Carolina has achieved greater in-store distribution and total sales in part through its participation in CLC’s exclusive national retail marketing platforms, including College Colors Day, Rock Your Colors and Holiday Cheer Section.
"CLC is excited to harness our unique programs and expertise to continue building the brand and retail presence of South Carolina, one of our longest-standing partner institutions,” said Cory Moss, SVP and Managing Director, CLC. “By leveraging the tremendous assets we have available in the areas of research, digital marketing, and entertainment, along with innovative brand strategies, CLC will continue to help the University connect its passionate fans to the renowned South Carolina brand.”
Revenue from the sale of South Carolina licensed products supports scholarships and other University initiatives.
CLC, the leading collegiate licensing agency in the U.S., signed or extended its licensing agreements with more than 50 partner institutions in 2015. CLC currently represents nearly 200 collegiate institutions, including 30 bowl games, the NCAA and the College Football Playoff.
