ATLANTA, GA (January 28, 2015) – The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the licensing affiliate of IMG College, today announced a five-year extension of its global partnership with Vanderbilt University to continue managing the University’s successful trademark licensing program. CLC began its partnership with Vanderbilt in 2007.
Officially-licensed product for Vanderbilt is now sold at more than 935 retail locations, with royalties increasing more than 165% since the inception of the partnership. Vanderbilt has achieved greater in-store distribution by participating in CLC’s exclusive national retail marketing platforms, including College Colors Day, Rock Your Colors and Holiday Cheer Section.
“We are honored to extend our partnership with Vanderbilt as we continue to expand the reach of its prestigious brand at retail through unique consumer-focused programs,” said Cory Moss, SVP and Managing Director for CLC. “Vanderbilt’s trademark licensing team has established itself as dynamic leaders in the industry, and I look forward to our staff working side-by-side with the University to maximize the value of the Vanderbilt brand.”
Revenue from the sale of Vanderbilt licensed products supports scholarships.
CLC, the leading collegiate licensing agency in the U.S., signed or extended its licensing agreements with more than 50 partner institutions in 2015. CLC currently represents nearly 200 collegiate institutions, including athletic conferences, more than 30 bowl games, the NCAA, the Heisman Trophy Trust, and the College Football Playoff.
